The TaxAssist Annual Conference - Change, collaboration and cloud technology

Over the weekend Receipt Bank took part in the 2015 TaxAssist Annual Conference held at the beautiful Celtic Manor in Wales. David and Steve spent the day chatting to TaxAssist practices from around the country about the changes affecting the accounting industry and the efforts being made to leverage technology to bring efficiencies to small businesses.

The day itself was a roaring success, with the 650+ TaxAssist franchisees & exhibitors enjoying numerous great discussions and networking opportunities. Among the exhibitors there were a number of high-profile vendors that have formed key partnerships with the TaxAssist franchise, including KashFlow & Iris, Intuit's QuickBooks Online, Bankstream, NatWest Bank, and Oryx Align, plus many more. These vendors contributed to the debate around one of the conference’s key themes; using the right tools and advice to balance a blend of human resources and technology.

A recurring discussion point raised by TaxAssist attendees was how they could continue to improve the advice and business tools that make their client's lives that bit easier. A key example was the desire to improve the way their clients recorded, stored and shared their invoices and receipts with them. Attendees were seeking a modern solution to address the age-old shoebox record keeping culture with a digital solution that works in real time and encourages collaboration between accountant and client. This was nicely topical due to Receipt Bank’s presence at the conference and it was great to have a chance to share how our service provides accountants with a tool to easily collect expenditure information and collaborate on it with their clients. It certainly felt like TaxAssist accountants are starting to sit up and listen where cloud accounting is concerned!
