Receipt Bank Practice Exchange - We Make The Trip Up To Manchester!

Last Tuesday marked the second Receipt Bank Practice Exchange in under a week as Helena and Steve ventured up to Manchester for another dose of debate and fine dining! Located in the heart of the city, the Abode hotel provided the perfect place from which to shelter from the cold of Manchester and kick-off the next chapter of Receipt-Bank’s Practice Exchange.

Expectations were high after the success of past lunches, however both the venue and the quality of discussion certainly lived up to the hype...the food certainly didn’t disappoint either!

Led by Receipt Bank’s Helena and Steve, the pre-lunch discussion enabled everyone to provide their very own snippets of wisdom. While a wide range of topics were covered, discussion focused on three main talking points. High on the agenda was client resistance to the cloud and fears surrounding security. This is an issue that has received extensive coverage as such fears have the potential to hinder the fantastic progress that cloud accounting is making. However, as is becoming the trend, it was unanimously agreed by all that the cloud certainly provides equal and often more extensive security measures than more traditional accountancy and bookkeeping practices. Alongside this topic, focus was also placed on pricing structures and the ways in which our guests viewed the cloud ecosystem. As with many of our previous Practice Exchanges, the information shared and insight gained was well received by all of our guests!

Special mention and a big thank you must also go out to both Stephen Paul of Valued Accountancy and Paul Barnes of My Accountancy Place. Both Stephan and Paul are Receipt Bank Gold Partners and were able to provide some excellent insight into the ways in which the cloud has allowed their businesses to take the next step in providing fantastic client services.

Over the next few months we will continue to host these events throughout the country in order to give like-minded, forward thinking and ambitious Accountants and Bookkeepers the chance to exchange ideas and experiences with one another. It doesn’t matter if you have just started out in the profession or have built up years of experience, we welcome people at any stage of their journey! Next on the Practice Exchange trail is London before we then venture up to Edinburgh on the 16th July for another insightful, informative and interactive Practice Exchange.

These lunches really do provide a fantastic opportunity to forge new relationships, exchange information and learn a great deal so please do get in contact with your Account Manager if you are interested.
